Delhi CM Orders Strict Action After Holi Murder in Uttam Nagar

New Delhi, March 8: delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the brutal murder of a young man, Tarun, during the Holi festival in Uttam Nagar. She described the incident as extremely painful, condemnable, and a shocking event for society as a whole. The Chief Minister emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted for such heinous criminal and violent acts in Delhi, stating that such brutality will not be tolerated at any cost.

In her statement, the Chief Minister said, “The brutal murder of an innocent young man in Uttam Nagar during the auspicious festival of Holi is extremely painful, condemnable, and shakes the entire society. There is a zero-tolerance policy for such heinous criminal and violent incidents in Delhi. Such brutality will not be tolerated at any cost.”

She informed that clear and strict instructions have been given to the administration to ensure the immediate arrest of all those involved in this crime and to take the harshest and swiftest legal action against them. The Chief Minister assured that strict and exemplary action would be taken in this case to deter any future inhumane acts.

Expressing condolences to the victim’s family, the Chief Minister stated, “During this difficult time, the Delhi government stands with the victim’s family with full empathy, responsibility, and determination. I will take action to ensure that the family receives all possible support and justice. Tarun’s family has lost their young son, and it is impossible to express their grief in words. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and give the family the strength to endure this unbearable sorrow.”

According to police sources, the dispute began in the JJ Colony of Uttam Nagar when a water balloon thrown by an 11-year-old girl splashed color on someone. Despite apologies, the situation escalated violently. The accused brutally attacked Tarun (26) with an iron rod and stones, leading to his death during treatment at the hospital. Tensions spread in the area, with protests erupting, vehicles being set on fire, and a police station being besieged. The Delhi Police have arrested eight individuals so far, including a minor.
