Judges Teach Cyber Safety in Udaipur Schools

Udaipur, April 8: In a unique initiative, judges took on teaching roles in 30 government schools across the district on Tuesday, raising awareness among students about cyber safety. The session covered critical topics such as cyberbullying, OTP scams, digital arrests, and safe social media usage.

Judge Arun Jain from POCSO Court-1, who conducted a session at Senior Secondary School Railway Training, expressed concern over children creating fake IDs on social media to post inappropriate content and tarnish others’ images. He emphasized that mocking a student in a WhatsApp group also falls under the category of cyberbullying, and such incidents can be reported confidentially within the school.

Judge Jain also educated students about good and bad touch, explaining the POCSO Act. He raised alarms about the increasing addiction to mobile and online gaming, stating that it negatively affects children’s concentration and memory. He advised students to refrain from sharing personal information with strangers and to avoid sharing OTPs or passwords with anyone. Additionally, he urged parents to monitor their children’s mobile usage responsibly.
