Bijapur, March 14: A new security and public facility camp has been successfully established in the large Gundem area of the Farsegard police station in Bijapur. This initiative is part of a coordinated effort by the District Reserve Guard (DRG), district forces, and the 12th battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force to take effective action against Maoists in the region.
Despite challenging geographical conditions and difficult access routes, security forces have demonstrated remarkable courage, determination, and high morale in successfully setting up the new security camps. This achievement is not only crucial for safety but is also expected to accelerate regional development.
The establishment of this camp marks significant progress in connecting Bhopalpattanam to Farsegard. In the future, it will pave the way for linking remote villages in the National park area with roads and other basic facilities, leading to notable improvements in transportation and administrative access.
Local citizens will benefit from essential services such as health care, education, electricity, drinking water, public distribution systems (PDS), mobile networks, and infrastructure like roads and bridges due to the new security camp. This will help establish effective control over Maoist activities and create an atmosphere of lasting peace and trust in the region.
Since 2024, a total of 37 new security camps have been established in Bijapur district. As a result of these ongoing efforts, 955 Maoists have been rehabilitated, 234 have been killed in various encounters, and 1,184 have been arrested through effective actions by security forces.
The establishment of the new camp is expected to effectively curb Maoist activities and accelerate anti-Naxal operations. It will provide essential public amenities such as roads, bridges, electricity, drinking water, health facilities, PDS shops, quality education, and mobile connectivity to the local population. The camp’s establishment has fostered a sense of enthusiasm and trust among the local citizens.
