
Bhubaneswar, March 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi on Monday regarding the tragic Fire Incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The Chief Minister shared this information on social media.
During the conversation, both leaders discussed the details of the incident. Chief Minister Majhi informed Prime Minister Modi about the emergency measures taken for the affected patients, the process of safely evacuating them, and the special medical treatment being provided.
He also updated the Prime Minister on the high-level judicial inquiry ordered by the state government to investigate the incident.
In a post on his social media account, X, Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi called me to discuss the tragic accident at SCB Medical College in Cuttack in detail. I informed him about the emergency measures taken for the affected individuals, the evacuation process, and the special medical care being provided. I also informed him about the high-level judicial inquiry ordered by the state government.”
Majhi mentioned, “I visited SCB this morning to assess the situation and instructed the administration to provide all possible government assistance to the affected individuals. All relevant departments and teams are working in coordination continuously. I am grateful to the Prime Minister for his compassionate concern and commitment to providing necessary assistance during this sensitive time.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister personally visited SCB Medical College to review the situation and directed the administration to ensure that affected families and patients receive all possible support. He also announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the families of the deceased.
Meanwhile, PM Modi announced financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to the dependents of the deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
