Chennai, March 20: The South Indian film industry is witnessing a positive response to spiritual and supernatural stories. When these narratives blend thrill, mystery, and emotion, they become even more captivating. Audiences eagerly await films that offer not just entertainment but also a unique experience. One such film, ‘Trikala,’ is currently making headlines due to its intriguing subject and powerful storyline, with discussions surrounding its release date intensifying.
Directed by Mani Thelaguti, ‘Trikala’ features Mahendran and Shraddha Das in lead roles. This spiritual Supernatural Thriller will depict the battle between good and evil. According to industry sources, the film is expected to release in theaters on April 24, although official confirmation is still pending.
Initially, the film was slated for a January release, but the makers decided to postpone the date. It is now being prepared for an April launch, and it will be released in Tamil under the title ‘Trikanda.’
Producer Srinivas mentioned that the film’s shooting was completed in Chennai and Hyderabad over approximately 60 to 70 days. They had considered a January 23 release, targeting audiences who embark on religious journeys, particularly to Sabarimala. The belief was that releasing the film after these journeys would be more appropriate, although no specific date was finalized at that time.
Audience excitement surged when the trailer was released, which opens with eerie and mysterious visuals accompanied by a voice stating that this battle is to bring light, but darkness seeks to extinguish it forever.
The trailer further illustrates a scenario where people live in fear as the influence of evil forces grows. This raises the question of whether this destruction can be halted. Mahendran is seen performing powerful action sequences, while Shraddha Das portrays a psychiatrist. A twist in the film occurs when she believes a patient suffers from a mental illness, only to discover that the individual is actually under the influence of dark forces, adding to the suspense of the film.
