
Udaipur, April 13: The annual meeting of the Rajasthan Film Art Institute saw founder Sohan Suhalka presenting a detailed account of the institute’s developmental journey. He announced that construction of a theatre, on land acquired at minimal rates from the Urban Development Trust, will commence on June 1. This announcement was met with applause from the attendees.
Several dignitaries from the cultural sector were present at the meeting. National poet and lyricist Devendra Singh Rao was honored with a traditional turban and shawl, acknowledging his contributions to art and literature.
Institute Secretary Premnath Yogi also highlighted the special recognition given to Dr. Chandraprakash Chittora, a renowned craftsman from Udaipur and holder of a world record for miniature books. He was presented with a turban and shawl at the Rajasthan Film Artists Centre.
The meeting also discussed upcoming cultural and creative projects of the institute. Speakers emphasized that the proposed Theatre Construction will provide a platform for local artists and give a new direction to art and cinema activities in Udaipur.
