Bathinda, March 21: In a significant operation against crime in Punjab, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has achieved another success by arresting two individuals in Bathinda. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Bathinda police, leading to the apprehension of the suspects along with the recovery of illegal firearms.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jackie Kumar, also known as Jackie, and Vikas Arora. Reports indicate that both were planning to rob a businessman in Bathinda when police intervened and made the arrests. Authorities recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols, a magazine, and four cartridges from their possession.
Initial investigations revealed that the firearms were brought from Delhi. The police are now working to connect the dots within the broader network to identify any additional accomplices involved in the plot.
Furthermore, it has come to light that Vikas Arora has a criminal record, having previously been involved in domestic violence cases.
Earlier, the AGTF Punjab had collaborated with the Haryana Special Task Force (Karnal Unit) in another major operation, which resulted in the arrest of two close associates of fugitive gangster Lucky Patial. The suspects, Rajan alias Piyush Pehalwan and Preetam Shah, are believed to be linked to the Bambiha gang.
These individuals are accused of being involved in a high-profile murder case that occurred on March 18 in Sector 9, Chandigarh, where Charanpreet Singh alias Chinni was killed, causing considerable alarm in the area.
Punjab police have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against crime and gangster activities in the state, promising to continue such operations against offenders in the future.
