Blink Earns Key EV Charger Certification, Joins Select U.S. Group

New Delhi (Patrika English News): Blink Charging Co. (NASDAQ: BLNK) announced Tuesday that its Series 7, 8, and 9 chargers have received Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 2.0.1 certification from the Open Charge Alliance, placing the company among just five U.S. firms to achieve this distinction.

Blink Charging OCPP certification

The certification enhances interoperability, ensuring Blink’s chargers can seamlessly operate across networks, providing greater flexibility and reliability for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. Globally, only 68 charger models have earned OCPP 2.0.1 certification, underlining Blink’s position in the limited pool of providers meeting international communication standards.

OCPP 2.0.1 offers improved security, scalability, and cross-platform compatibility compared to earlier versions, supporting the industry’s broader shift toward interoperability as EV adoption accelerates.

Blink’s Chief Technology Officer Harmeet Singh said the achievement reflects the company’s focus on innovation. “Achieving OCPP 2.0.1 certification for our products was a key priority for Blink’s team, reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering a seamless and convenient charging experience for EV drivers,” Singh said.

The recognition comes as Blink continues to strengthen its market position. Earlier this month, the company regained compliance with Nasdaq’s minimum bid price rule and unveiled a partnership with UK-based digital charging platform Paua, adding about 850 sites and 3,500 connectors to its network. The collaboration is expected to improve accessibility for both fleet operators and individual EV users.

At last check Tuesday, Blink shares were down 1.47% at $1.34.
