Mumbai, March 10: India has clinched the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title for the third time, marking a historic moment reminiscent of their first victory in 1983, which left an indelible mark on cricket enthusiasts. Among the players who contributed to that legendary win, many stories continue to inspire fans today. One such name that has emerged in this cinematic journey is Chirag Patil, who, despite never having played a match himself, brilliantly portrayed his cricketer father, Sandeep Patil, in the film ’83’.

Born on March 10, 1987, in Mumbai, Chirag grew up in a cricketing environment, thanks to his father, a prominent figure in Indian cricket. However, he chose a different path, completing his education and earning a degree in B.Sc. Hospitality Management before fate led him to the film industry.

Chirag began his acting career in 2011 with the Marathi film ‘Rada Rocks’ and later made his Bollywood debut in Dev Anand’s film ‘Charge Sheet’. His filmography includes a mix of both small and large projects, establishing his identity in Marathi cinema and surprising audiences with his acting prowess.

His career gained significant attention when he became part of the film ’83’, where he portrayed his father, Sandeep Patil. This role was particularly intriguing for audiences, as Chirag had never played professional cricket. In an interview, he expressed that being part of the film felt like a dream come true. He acknowledged the challenges of playing real-life cricket players but approached the role with dedication and preparation.

In addition to acting, Chirag is also a businessman. He founded ‘RCSP Hotels and Resorts’ and operates a boutique lakefront resort named ‘The Farmhouse’ in Karjat.
