CM Rekha Gupta Exposes Sheesh Mahal Controversy

New Delhi, March 26: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has sharply criticized former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following the release of a video related to the ‘Sheesh Mahal’. She stated that the truth can no longer be concealed, revealing what has been hidden from the public for years.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the people of Delhi have long awaited the truth about the ‘Sheesh Mahal’, and the video has made it clear how those who came to power in the name of the ‘common man’ have used public funds to create a royal palace for themselves. She described the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ not merely as a building but as a living testament to corruption, arrogance, and betrayal of public trust, as well as a symbol of moral decay.

Gupta pointed out that the scenes depicted in the video illustrate the abuse of power and the extreme luxury that has been attained. She urged the citizens of Delhi to see how those they elected to serve them have built a lavish lifestyle with public money. She noted that those who claimed they would not take cars or bungalows have instead constructed a palace behind the scenes, where the common man has no place.

The Chief Minister raised serious questions about the expenses incurred in constructing the ‘Sheesh Mahal’, which initially was projected to cost around ₹8 crore but ballooned to ₹62 crore. This increase points to significant financial irregularities. She detailed that the palace includes 50 air conditioners, numerous fans, expensive interiors, foreign coffee machines, high-end equipment, and facilities worth millions. Additionally, several private consultants were hired for various tasks, further escalating costs.

Gupta stated that what has emerged in the name of the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ marks a dark chapter of corruption in Delhi’s history. The exorbitant expenses, luxury amenities, costly equipment, and a multitude of private consultants demonstrate a complete disregard for rules and ethics. She highlighted that while the people of Delhi were grappling with a pandemic and economic crisis, those in power were busy decorating their palaces and commissioning ‘world-class’ interiors. This is not just a matter of financial irregularity but a betrayal of public trust.

The Chief Minister appealed to the citizens of Delhi to watch the video and determine for themselves what has transpired. She asserted that the public has every right to know how their money has been utilized by those they elected to serve them.

Rekha Gupta reiterated that her government will not spare anyone found guilty in this matter. She mentioned that an investigation has already been initiated, and a detailed inquiry is being ensured through the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The Delhi government is committed to accounting for every single penny of public money. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. This government is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and safeguarding public trust.
