New Delhi, March 20: A large number of devotees visited the Jhandewalan Temple in Delhi on the second day of Chaitra Navratri. From as early as 4 AM, queues formed for darshan and worship at the temple. Devotees come to seek blessings from Mata Rani and participate in the rituals.
Speaking to Patrika English, a priest at the temple noted that Thursday marked the first day of Navratri, while today is dedicated to the worship of Maa Brahmacharini. The goddess has been adorned in her Brahmacharini form, and devotees have been lining up since dawn.
He explained, “Maa Bhagwati performed severe penance to attain Lord Shiva’s blessings. On the second day of Navratri, devotees begin their yogic practices associated with the Swadhisthana chakra. This is a highly auspicious day for practitioners who worship the goddess to fulfill their wishes.”
Ravinder Goyal, a trustee of the Jhandewalan Temple, extended heartfelt wishes to all devotees for Navratri and the Hindu New Year. He assured that all arrangements at the temple are functioning smoothly, with a significant number of devotees arriving for blessings. Entry to the temple is organized through three designated points, and digital darshan facilities are also available. Devotees can book their visit timings online via the temple’s website.
Goyal mentioned that parking has been arranged at six locations outside the temple, complete with shoe stands. To ensure comfort, carpeting has been laid out for the devotees. The temple is themed around spring for Chaitra Navratri, and special attention is being paid to cleanliness, with the premises being cleaned three times a day.
Regarding security, Goyal stated that over 300 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the temple complex. A control room has been set up where officials from the Delhi Police and temple volunteers monitor activities. The temple has around 3,000 volunteers, including more than 350 women.
A devotee visiting the temple remarked, “Coming here brings immense peace to my mind. All my stress disappears. I visit every time. Mata Rani has been very gracious; she has left no desire unfulfilled.”
