IPL Betting Racket Busted in Pratapgarh, Six Arrested

Pratapgarh, April 10: In a significant crackdown against illegal Betting on IPL matches, the Pratapgarh police have uncovered an organized online betting racket. Six individuals were arrested during the operation, which revealed transactions amounting to approximately ₹12.75 crores.
Police received information about online betting being conducted at a farmhouse near Sarvodaya School in the city. After confirming the tip-off, a joint team of officers raided the location. Inside a large hall of the farmhouse, the accused were found operating betting activities using laptops and mobile phones. Upon noticing the police, they attempted to flee but were apprehended after a swift blockade.
Network Operated via Website
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been active for the past 8 to 10 days, providing customers with betting IDs through an online website. Customers placed bets using these IDs. Transactions were conducted through digital platforms such as PhonePe.
The investigation also uncovered that the entire network was being operated by an individual named Ankit Doshi, who was not present at the scene and was monitoring the operations via CCTV. Police are currently searching for him.
Seizure of Equipment
During the raid, police seized six laptops, 38 mobile phones, and 48 SIM cards. Additionally, a Wi-Fi device, CCTV camera, ATM cards, chargers, electronic devices, five red diaries, and a register were confiscated. An examination of the seized documents and digital data revealed a detailed record of transactions exceeding ₹12.54 crores between October 2025 and April 2026. Police have registered cases against the accused under the Indian Penal Code 2023, the RPGO Act, and the IT Act. A thorough investigation into the entire network is ongoing.
