
Jaipur, March 9: The Jaipur Polo Team has continued its impressive performance this season by winning its ninth title under the leadership of Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh at the prestigious SMS Gold Vase. The team secured victory in a closely contested final against Krishna Polo, winning 6-5.5.
The final match was a hard-fought battle, with both teams exchanging momentum throughout the chukkas. Jaipur started strong, taking an early lead of 2-1.5 by the end of the first chukker through aggressive attacking pressure. Krishna Polo responded in the second chukker, with Vishal Singh Rathore leading his team to a narrow halftime advantage of 3.5-3.
In the third chukker, Jaipur shifted gears, regaining possession and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh led the attack with clinical finishing, pushing the team ahead to 5-3.5.
Krishna Polo mounted a strong challenge in the final chukker with goals from Vishal Singh Rathore and Siddhant Singh. However, Jaipur maintained its defense and managed the game well, ultimately winning 6-5.5 and claiming the SMS Gold Vase.
In the semifinals against RPCB, Jaipur overcame an early deficit after RPCB took a 3.5-1 lead by the end of the first chukker. Jaipur responded with goals from Harshod Singh and Yogendra Singh in the second chukker, bringing the score to 4.5-4 by halftime.
The momentum shifted significantly in the third chukker as Jaipur strengthened its defense and controlled possession. With goals from Divyaman Singh Dujod and HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh, the team surged ahead to 5-4.5. Jaipur maintained this momentum into the final chukker, extending their lead to 8-5.5 and securing their place in the final. For Jaipur, Harshod Singh and Yogendra Singh each scored two goals, while Divyaman Singh Dujod added one and HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh scored three. For RPCB, Tarun Bilwal and Alan Shawn Michael each netted two goals.
