Srinagar, March 19: Light rain is currently falling in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, keeping the weather cool. The Meteorological Department has indicated that due to the influence of continuous western disturbances, the weather in the Kashmir Valley is likely to remain unstable over the next two days.
According to the weather department, generally cloudy conditions are expected between March 19 and 20, with intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall in many places. Moderate to heavy snowfall may occur in some higher areas of the Chenab Valley and southern Kashmir.
From March 21 to 25, the weather is expected to be generally dry. However, from March 26 to 28, cloudy conditions will prevail, with sporadic light rain and snowfall (in higher areas) possible.
The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for the general public and tourists, advising those traveling to higher areas and important passes to plan their journeys according to the weather conditions on March 19 and 20.
The department has also forecasted the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds (40-50 km/h) in some areas during this period, along with the potential for hail in isolated locations. Farmers have been advised to postpone all agricultural activities.
In Ramban, continuous rain over the past two days has led to a drop in temperature. Similarly, Baramulla has experienced consistent light rain, contributing to a decrease in temperature, with rain expected to continue throughout the afternoon. The sky will remain overcast, and the winds will be light and variable, with a 100% chance of rain.
In Delhi-NCR, the weather also changed suddenly on Wednesday, bringing light rain accompanied by strong winds, with more light rain reported in several areas on Thursday morning.
