PM Modi to Inaugurate Kamakhyaguri Railway Station Virtually

City, March 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Kamakhyaguri Railway Station in Alipurduar district on March 14, during a program from Kolkata. This station has been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to enhance facilities and infrastructure for passengers.

Local residents have expressed their happiness, stating that the upgraded station will provide better amenities and convenience for travelers. One resident mentioned that the redevelopment will improve connectivity, benefiting local traders and passengers alike.

Another local highlighted the historical significance of Kamakhyaguri Station, stating, “This is our very old station. The promise of Amrit Bharat has been fulfilled, and the Prime Minister is dedicating it to us. Our area has a population of one million, and we hope to see an increase in train stoppages here. It will facilitate travel to Delhi and the south, and with the proximity to the Bangladesh and Bhutan borders, the station’s stoppages will benefit us all.”

In a separate conversation, another resident remarked on the excitement surrounding the inauguration, saying, “The station has been decorated, and there are many facilities. We are thankful to the Prime Minister for this development.”

On Friday, PM Modi, during his visit to Assam, inaugurated and laid the foundation for Development Projects worth approximately ₹19,480 crore in Guwahati. He addressed a large gathering, extending heartfelt wishes to the people of the city.

During the event, PM Modi stated that with the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth ₹19,500 crore have been accomplished. He emphasized that Assam has received various projects aimed at making the state self-reliant in the energy sector and improving facilities for travelers. He also noted that Assam plays a crucial role in fulfilling the country’s renewable energy commitments.
