Reliance Rolls Out Ten-Point Relief Plan for Flood-Hit Punjab

Chandigarh, Sept 10 (Patrika English News): In response to the devastating floods that have hit Punjab, Reliance Industries Limited has launched a comprehensive ten-point humanitarian plan to support affected communities. The relief initiative, spearheaded by Reliance Foundation, Vantara, Reliance Retail, and Jio, is reaching more than 10,000 families across Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi, some of the worst-affected districts.

The entire Reliance family is standing with them — providing food, water, shelter kits, and care for both people and animals. This ten-point plan reflects our deep belief that We Care. We are committed to walk alongside Punjab through this difficult time,” said Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited.

Key Elements of the Ten-Point Relief Plan

Nutrition Support

  1. Dry ration kits for 10,000 affected families.

  2. Voucher-based assistance worth ?5,000 each for 1,000 vulnerable households, especially single-women and elderly-led families.

  3. Dry ration aid for community kitchens to provide immediate nourishment.

  4. Deployment of portable water filters in waterlogged areas for safe drinking water.

Shelter Support
5. Distribution of emergency shelter kits with tarpaulins, bedding, mosquito nets, and other essentials.

Public Health Risk Management (PHRM)
6. Health awareness sessions and water source disinfection to prevent disease outbreaks.
7. Distribution of sanitation kits with hygiene essentials to every affected household.

Livestock Support
8. Veterinary surveys flagged livestock distress; urgent medical care and vaccination drives initiated.
9. Livestock camps set up with medicines and vaccines; 3,000 silage bundles distributed for nearly 5,000 cattle.
10. Vantara’s 50-member expert team, equipped with modern rescue gear, is treating rescued animals and ensuring dignified scientific cremation of deceased ones in coordination with local authorities.

Round-the-Clock Relief Coordination

Reliance teams are working closely with district administrations, animal husbandry departments, and local panchayats to deliver immediate relief and plan medium-term recovery.

The Jio Punjab team has restored connectivity in flood-hit areas in coordination with NDRF, ensuring 100% network reliability. Meanwhile, Reliance Retail is dispatching curated ration and sanitation kits containing 21 essential items, identified through panchayats and delivered by volunteers.

With this effort, Reliance has reaffirmed its commitment to stand “shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Punjab”, ensuring swift and holistic recovery through collective action, care, and compassion.
