Cleveland, September 13 (Patrika English News): Tanner Bibee delivered a masterclass on the mound Friday night, tossing a two-hit shutout to lead the Cleveland Guardians to a 4-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. It marked Cleveland’s first complete-game shutout in six years.

The 25-year-old right-hander struck out 10 without issuing a single walk, giving the Guardians a crucial victory as they chase the final AL wild-card spot.
Dominant Outing
Bibee (10-11) leaned on his changeup early and mixed his pitches effectively to silence a White Sox lineup that had won nine of its last 11 games. His only trouble came in the third inning when he allowed back-to-back singles, but he escaped with a double play and went on to retire 18 of the final 20 batters he faced.
“No walks for sure,” Bibee said afterward. “I hate walking people, and it’s a beautiful thing when both [no walks and strikeouts] happen at the same time.”
It was Bibee’s second complete game of the season and Cleveland’s first shutout since Zach Plesac blanked the Los Angeles Angels on September 10, 2019.
Guardians Gaining Momentum
Cleveland (76-71) has now won seven of its last eight games, including Bibee’s previous two starts, tightening the race with Seattle for the final postseason spot.
Outfielder Nolan Jones sealed the shutout with a diving catch on Lenyn Sosa’s liner to right for the game’s final out, punctuating Bibee’s career night.
