New Delhi, March 26: The first match of IPL 2026 is set to take place on March 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, featuring the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). RCB, having ended an 18-year title drought last year, will look to continue their winning momentum. Here’s a look at the top three run-scorers in matches between RCB and SRH.
Virat Kohli holds the record for the most runs scored against SRH while playing for RCB. In 24 innings, Kohli has amassed 805 runs at a strike rate of 142, including one century and five half-centuries. His impressive performance includes a powerful innings of 43 runs off just 25 balls in the IPL 2025 match against SRH. Kohli is also the highest run-scorer in IPL history, with a total of 8,661 runs in 267 matches.
David Warner ranks second among the top scorers in RCB-SRH encounters. Facing RCB’s bowling attack in 13 matches, Warner has scored 647 runs at a strike rate of 163. However, he will not be participating in this season’s tournament. The former Australian batsman led SRH to their championship title in 2016 and has accumulated 6,565 runs in 184 IPL matches, making him the highest-scoring foreign player in the league.
AB de Villiers has also made a significant impact against SRH while donning the RCB jersey. In 17 matches, he scored 540 runs at a strike rate of 155, including five half-centuries. Notably, de Villiers retired from IPL in 2021, leaving behind a remarkable legacy.
