Udaipur, April 11: The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) has reported a remarkable threefold increase in its revenue since becoming an authority. The rising demand for land, buildings, and plots has significantly strengthened UDA’s financial position, paving the way for transformative development plans amounting to ₹1,020 crore.
In the financial year 2024-25, UDA’s income was recorded at ₹379.66 crore, which surged to ₹687.73 crore in 2025-26—an impressive growth of approximately 81%. Based on this financial strength, a budget proposal for the year 2026-27 includes an expected income of ₹639.49 crore and an expenditure of ₹1,020.03 crore.
Revenue Boost from Land Sales
The largest contribution to UDA’s revenue has come from the sale of land, buildings, and plots, generating ₹343.76 crore. Additionally, ₹123.80 crore was collected from land regulation fees, ₹174.45 crore from residential schemes, and ₹43.34 crore from other sources. The high demand for plots in the city’s outskirts—Bhuwana, Govardhan Vilas, Debari, Pratap Nagar, and Airport Road—has greatly benefited the authority.
Expansion of Periphery with 236 Villages
In light of the city’s expansion, UDA has included 236 new villages in the periphery area. This move is expected to open up new opportunities for residential, industrial, and commercial projects while enabling better control over unregulated colonies. UDA plans to make significant investments in road network expansion, new residential schemes, commercial complexes, parks, and community facilities in the coming year. According to UDA Secretary Hemendra Nagar, “With the city’s growing boundaries, the focus is on planned development to ensure better facilities for both urban and peripheral areas.”
