
DIG, April 9: K.K. Gupta, the state brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), chaired a review meeting with officials from all municipal bodies and related departments in the Dig district. He emphasized that cleanliness is the first step towards development and is essential for prosperity and happiness in the state.
Gupta clarified that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is serious about cleanliness and has instructed strict action against negligent officials. He mentioned that regular monitoring is being conducted at higher levels, and the performance of each municipal body is under review.
He noted that the Swachh Bharat Mission has brought significant changes in the country. Previously, diseases like dengue and malaria spread due to unhygienic conditions, but now, improved cleanliness is enhancing public health.
The meeting focused on key issues such as door-to-door waste collection, banning plastic, cleaning public toilets, nighttime sanitation, and maintaining vacant plots.
Gupta stated that Dig district will establish a new identity in the field of cleanliness and further enhance the beauty of the Braj region.
