Udaipur, April 17: A tragic incident has unfolded in Udaipur district, where a female health worker reportedly committed suicide in the government quarters of her boyfriend, a doctor. Following the incident, the doctor allegedly removed her body from the ceiling fan and left it on the stairs before fleeing the scene. The police later apprehended the doctor in Chittorgarh district after setting up a blockade. This incident has sent shockwaves through the health department and the local community.
According to police reports, the health worker, Anita Meena (30), had been staying at the government quarters of Dr. Surendra Bijaraniya, who works at the Kanod Community Health Center, for the past four days. Late Wednesday night, she took her own life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. After the act, the doctor reportedly informed her family and then escaped the premises.
Conflicts reportedly arose after Dr. Bijaraniya married someone else in December, despite Anita’s pressure for marriage. This led to escalating tensions between the two, which initial investigations suggest may have contributed to her tragic decision.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police rushed to the scene but found the doctor missing, despite his scheduled duty that night. They quickly established a blockade and apprehended him around 1 AM in the Manglawad area of Chittorgarh district.
Dr. Bijaraniya, a resident of Shrimadhopur in Sikar district, had developed a close relationship with Anita Meena, who was stationed at Rajpura CHC, just four kilometers from Kanod. Their proximity during meetings and duty hours reportedly led to their romantic involvement. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
