Udaipur, April 16: Udaipur is set to celebrate a proud moment as Sindhu Binujit, the divisional Child Protection advisor, will be honored during the 77th Rajasthan Police Foundation Day ceremony in Jaipur. The event will take place at the Rajasthan Police Academy, where Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will present her with a certificate of appreciation.
According to an order issued by Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) Biju George Joseph, this recognition is awarded for her outstanding contributions to child protection in collaboration with UNICEF and the Rajasthan Police.
Significant Contributions to Child Protection
Binujit began her work in 2010 in Dungarpur, where she effectively campaigned against child labor and migration. She has played a commendable role in coordinating between the administration, police, and UNICEF to bring children into the mainstream.
Innovations in Policing
She initiated programs like ‘Vatsal Varta’ to strengthen communication between police and children. Additionally, she developed models such as ‘Bal Mitra Police Thana’ and ‘Safe Schools’, which have since been adopted across the state.
Statewide Implementation of the Model
In 2015, then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje directed the implementation of these innovations statewide. Currently, this model is successfully operational in the districts of the Udaipur range.
Previous Recognition
Binujit was also honored at the state level in 2017. Her continuous activism and contributions to child protection have led to her selection for this state-level honor once again.
