Patna, 29 January: Bihar Government Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal responded to various issues concerning Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the development of the state. He stated that the relationship between Congress and regional parties has never been smooth, as Congress focuses primarily on promoting itself.
Referring to the Bihar elections, Jaiswal said, “Looking back, during the elections, Rahul Gandhi prepared Tejashwi Yadav to take to the streets, but when it came to projecting a Chief Ministerial face, Rahul Gandhi avoided the matter for several days. Congress does not want to see any regional party advancing, which is why the coordination between them has always been weak.”
Speaking on employment schemes, the minister targeted the opposition. He said that the work done through Parliament has been presented to the public, and the opposition has expressed its views. However, they fail to acknowledge that the scheme now known as Mahatma Gandhi’s employment programme was earlier called the Jawahar Rozgar Yojana.
Regarding the state’s development, Minister Jaiswal praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s initiatives. He highlighted that to realise the dream of making Bihar a developed state, Nitish Kumar has launched the ‘Samriddhi Yatra’. Every cabinet meeting clearly shows a focus on Bihar’s progress, including concerns for farmers, women, and youth, creating employment opportunities, attracting investors, strengthening road, rail, and air connectivity, and advancing power projects. According to him, this is the path to a developed Bihar.
On Tejashwi Yadav’s appointment as the national executive president of RJD, the minister remarked, “In the families of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav, it is believed that the post of national president or organisational president is inherited. The claim to such positions starts from birth.”
He questioned whether anyone other than Tejashwi Yadav could ever reach this position without being a son of Lalu Yadav. The tradition has been that the king’s son becomes the king, receiving privileges along with a silver and golden spoon from birth.
