Curtis Jones Ruled Out of Burnley Clash, Liverpool Report Clean Bill of Health

Liverpool, September 13 (Patrika English News): Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that midfielder Curtis Jones will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Burnley due to a minor injury sustained against Arsenal before the international break.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Slot said Jones is the only absentee, with the rest of the squad returning fit from international duty.

“Curtis Jones, of course, got injured in the last game, so he will not be available for Burnley,” Slot told reporters. “The rest of them I think all came back without a problem — and that’s not always the situation.”

The head coach highlighted the risks players face during international breaks, especially early in the season when they are still adjusting to demanding schedules.

“Everybody comes from a different background and suddenly has to play two games in four or five days. In November, October, or March, they are more used to that programme,” he explained.

Slot also credited national team coaches for managing his players’ workloads responsibly. “We are happy they are fit and again, compliment not only for the Swedish manager but also for others. For example, Ryan Gravenberch started one game but didn’t play both.”

With the Champions League campaign also about to begin, Liverpool will be relieved to have avoided fresh injury concerns beyond Jones.
