Jharkhand: Man Kills Father-in-Law in Domestic Dispute, Wife and Sister-in-Law Injured

Palamu, 30 January: In a shocking incident in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, a man stabbed his father-in-law to death during a domestic dispute on Friday. His wife and sister-in-law were also seriously injured in the attack. The accused fled the scene immediately after the incident.

According to the police, Lavkush Yadav, a resident of Soba Barewa village in Haidarnagar police station area, married Rita Devi from Chhatarpur about three years ago. Since their marriage, the couple had been facing tensions, and due to ongoing family conflicts, Rita had been staying at her parental home for some time.

The accused had recently returned from work outside. On Friday, he went to his in-laws’ house and pressured his wife to come back with him. When Rita refused to return, a heated argument broke out between them. In a fit of rage, Lavkush attacked his wife with a knife.

Sunil Yadav, the father-in-law, tried to intervene to stop the violence, but the accused turned on him and inflicted fatal wounds. The sister-in-law, Kavita Kumari, who also tried to intervene, was seriously injured by the accused’s knife attack. Sunil Yadav died on the spot.

Following the attack, the accused escaped. Chhatarpur police rushed to the spot after receiving information and conducted an investigation. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody for post-mortem. The injured women have been admitted to Medininagar Medical College Hospital, where their condition is critical.

The police have registered a case and launched a search operation to arrest the accused.
