New Delhi, April 1: The Opposition has intensified its criticism of the central government regarding the ongoing shortage of LPG in the country. They have accused the government of misleading the public instead of addressing their concerns.
Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav stated, “The government claims there is no shortage of gas or petrol-diesel. If government officials interacted with the public, they would understand the real issues. They seem to have developed a habit of speaking in the air, which is not good for the country. Hotels and petrol pumps are shutting down, yet the government remains oblivious.”
He added that in Delhi, people are now seeking permission to burn coal, indicating a dire situation that has never been seen before. Despite this, the government is not paying attention to resolving the public’s problems, leading to increased migration and worsening conditions across the nation.
Yadav further remarked, “Any bills introduced by this government will be against the interests of the public. So far, every bill has favored a few capitalists and select individuals, with not a single bill benefiting the common people. Today, the Home Minister will respond to the CAPF Regulation Bill.”
Congress MP Rajiv Rai commented, “When petroleum products hit a minimum in the international market, the government took advantage and raised excise duties. This government thrives on finding opportunities in disasters.”
Congress MP Rajni Patil expressed concerns over the increase in commercial LPG Prices, noting that prior to this, domestic cylinder prices had also risen. “Our leader Rahul Gandhi has been warning of a significant upheaval. This will impact households, and the government needs to take action,” she said.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari emphasized that while domestic prices affect individual households, commercial prices impact society as a whole. “Daily wage earners and vendors are already raising their prices. It’s only been three months this year, and there are nine months left. How much more will this government exploit?”
Congress MP Rajiv Shukla added, “This is a significant increase. It will affect all students and small industries. Everything will become more expensive, and the public will face severe hardships.”
