Washington, September 12 (Patrika English News): Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Thani will arrive in Washington on Friday to hold meetings with top US officials, at a time when Israel recently targeted Hamas leaders in Doha.

According to Israeli Channel 12, Al Thani is scheduled to meet US Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. There is also a possibility that he may meet President Donald Trump.
The visit is being seen as a signal that Washington wants to further strengthen its relations with Qatar. Earlier this week, President Trump directed his officials to push forward a new security agreement with Doha.
Qatar already holds the status of a Major Non-NATO Ally. However, if the new agreement goes through, it could involve additional US arms sales or the deployment of more American troops in the Gulf nation.
