Teachers Union Warns of Statewide Protest Over Holiday Cuts

Udaipur, April 6: The rajasthan Teachers’ Union (Unified) has expressed strong opposition to the reduction of holidays in the academic calendar for the 2026-27 session, warning the state government of a potential protest. The union has deemed the holiday cuts detrimental to both teachers and students.
Under the leadership of State Chief Patron Giriraj Sharma, the organization has decided that if the holiday arrangements are not restored, a statewide movement will be initiated. The union demands that the principal’s leave be maintained for two days and that the summer vacation be declared from May 17 to June 30, and the winter vacation from December 26 to January 10.
The organization has also raised concerns regarding increasing irregularities within the Education department. The union alleges a lack of transparency in the transfer process, which is leading to growing dissatisfaction among teachers.
Furthermore, the union has called for the appointment of a qualified educator as the education Minister to strengthen the education system. They have warned that if their demands are not met, the protests will intensify.
