
Dungarpur, April 6: The police of Bichiwada police station in Dungarpur district have made a significant breakthrough by seizing approximately ₹50 lakh worth of illegal English liquor hidden in a secret chamber and arresting two smugglers.
During a routine check on National Highway 48, near the Ratanpur police post, a suspicious truck was stopped. Upon inspection, the police discovered the liquor concealed behind plywood. A total of 520 cartons of liquor manufactured in Haryana were recovered from the secret chamber created between the plywood and iron angles.
Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar stated that the operation was led by Station House Officer Kailashchandra Soni. The truck driver, Jogasingh from Yamunanagar, and his accomplice Satish Kumar from Rohtak were arrested at the scene.
The seized liquor has been valued at around ₹50 lakh. The police are interrogating the accused to uncover the smuggling network and identify other individuals involved.
