Pratapgarh, April 9: In a significant ruling, the District Session Court has sentenced two individuals to Life Imprisonment in the high-profile Devilal Murder case from the Daryawad police station area. Additionally, both convicts have been fined ₹25,000 each.
According to Public Prosecutor Tarun Das Vairagi, a report was filed on October 5, 2022, by Khatya Meena, stating that her son, Devilal Meena, had left home on October 4, and his body was discovered the following day near Kaniya Ghati in Daragav.
Following a thorough police investigation, Deepak (21) and Dinesh (18) were arrested. The court was presented with testimonies from 17 witnesses and 43 documents related to the case.
Based on the evidence and witness accounts, Session Judge Asha Kumari found both defendants guilty and imposed the life sentences. This verdict is considered a significant step towards justice for the victim’s family.
