Banswara, April 9: The Nari Shakti Vandan program in Banswara witnessed a tense moment when BJP Mahila Morcha district president Sheetal Bhandari expressed her displeasure by sitting on the ground due to not being allotted a place on the stage. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje intervened, insisting that women should take precedence on the stage over male officials present.
At the beginning of the event, Raje emphasized that women should be given prominent positions in programs related to women’s empowerment. She directed the male leaders seated on the stage to move down and make way for the women. During this, Bhandari stood up, showing her discontent at not being given a place on the stage, and chose to sit on the ground with her fellow workers.
Raje repeatedly called her “my sister” in an attempt to persuade her to join the stage, but Bhandari remained steadfast. After a prolonged discussion, Raje had to assertively state, “That’s enough, no more words.” Following this, the situation calmed down, and Bhandari eventually took her seat on the stage.
After the program, Bhandari clarified that she held no grudges and considered the party as her family. Meanwhile, state spokesperson for the Mahila Morcha, Nirmala Makwana, also expressed dissatisfaction regarding the stage arrangements.
