Udaipur, April 9: In a significant move to ease travel for passengers, the Indian Railways has announced the permanent operation of the Agra Cant-Asarwa special train. This decision comes in response to long-standing demands from commuters, aiming to make travel more affordable and regular.
The train will now operate under new numbers: 20178 (from Agra Cant to Asarwa) and 20177 (from Asarwa to Agra Cant), running five days a week. The train is scheduled to depart from Agra Cant at 6:45 PM, reaching Udaipur at 5:20 AM the next day and Asarwa at 11:00 AM. Conversely, it will leave Asarwa at 3:00 PM, arriving in Udaipur at 7:25 PM and returning to Agra Cant at 7:15 AM the following morning.
One of the most significant benefits of this permanent status is the reduction in fares. With the removal of the “special” tag, ticket prices in the Second AC, Third AC, and Sleeper categories have decreased by 20 to 22 percent. Previously, the train operated under numbers 01919-01920 as a special service, and this change is expected to provide lasting relief to passengers.
