Udaipur, April 12: Following the tragic deaths of eight children due to a mysterious illness in Salumber district, former MP and Udaipur Rural Congress President Raghuveer Singh Meena has raised serious concerns regarding the administrative response. He emphasized that better road conditions could have facilitated timely hospital access for the ailing children, potentially saving their lives.
Visits Affected Villages, Offers Condolences
Meena visited the villages of Ghata and Lalpura in the Lasadiya area, meeting with the grieving families to express his condolences. He remarked that the situation in the region is alarming, creating a climate of fear among the villagers.
Questions on Health Facilities
He accused the administration of merely conducting tours without providing adequate medicines or proper testing facilities. Approximately a dozen children remain hospitalized, yet the healthcare arrangements are unsatisfactory.
Frustration Over Lack of Compensation
Meena expressed his discontent over the absence of financial assistance for the families of the deceased children, calling it highly unfortunate. He claimed that the officials’ visits are merely formalities.
Demands from the Government
He urged the state government to promptly provide compensation to the affected families, ensure better medical facilities, and deploy specialist doctors. Additionally, he appealed to villagers to avoid superstitions and seek treatment at government hospitals.
