Major Drug Bust Near Five-Star Hotel Uncovers ₹10 Crore Cannabis Farm

Udaipur, April 12: A significant drug operation named ‘operation Ganjajuli’ has led to the discovery of an illegal Cannabis farm worth approximately ₹10 crores in the Delwada area near Udaipur. The joint operation by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) resulted in the seizure of 5,860 cannabis plants.

Farming Hidden Behind a Five-Star Hotel
The operation took place in a hilly region adjacent to a well-known five-star hotel on the Delwada-Kailashpuri road. Authorities received a tip-off regarding large-scale cannabis cultivation on about six bighas of private land. The team acted swiftly to destroy the entire crop on-site.

Cannabis Concealed Among Wheat
The traffickers cleverly concealed the cannabis plants among wheat crops to avoid detection. The hilly location and the structure of the fields made it difficult to spot from the road or even by drone surveillance. The illegal farming was only revealed after the wheat harvest was completed.

65-Year-Old Arrested
A 65-year-old suspect, Nathulal Gameti, was apprehended at the scene while preparing small packets for distribution. Investigations revealed that there are 19 landholders associated with the farm, and efforts are underway to locate them.

Supply Network Across Mewar and Marwar
Officials indicated that this network was responsible for supplying narcotics across the Mewar and Marwar regions. Under the leadership of the ANTF, this marks the seventh major operation in the last six months, showcasing significant progress in the fight against drug trafficking.
