Pratapgarh, April 7: The district supply department has taken strict action against the commercial use of domestic LPG cylinders in Pratapgarh. In a special inspection campaign conducted on Monday, eight domestic gas cylinders were seized. This action was taken in light of potential Gas Supply disruptions and concerns over black marketing, ensuring regular supply for common consumers.
The enforcement team conducted surprise inspections at hotels and eateries in the areas of Gandhi Chauraha, Zero Mile Chauraha, and Mahal Darwaza. During these inspections, illegal use of domestic cylinders was found at eight commercial establishments. According to regulations, domestic gas is meant solely for household use, while separate cylinders are mandatory for commercial purposes.
All seized cylinders have been handed over to the gas agency. The department has initiated action against the concerned establishments as per the rules and has indicated that such campaigns will continue in the future.
The district supply officer has urged the public not to make unnecessary bookings out of panic regarding gas supply. He assured that the supply is smooth and requested that any information regarding the misuse of domestic cylinders be reported to the department immediately.
