
Bikaner, 14 October (Patrika English News ). The son of a farmer family who took care of sheep and goats has now returned to Bikaner after learning modern farming techniques in Denmark. Virendra Lunu, a progressive farmer from village Belasar near Bikaner city, returned to Bikaner from a trip to Denmark on Tuesday. Under the Knowledge Enhancement Program of the State Government, he has taken training in new technologies related to agriculture and animal husbandry. Virendra Lunu was selected in the team of 38 progressive farmers sent by the state government to increase the capacity of farmers. Along with this team, ministers Jawahar Singh Bedham, Zoraram Kumawat and Otram Dewasi and senior IAS Rajan Vishal, Dr. Samit Sharma, Agriculture Commission Chairman C.R. Chaudhary, Horticulture Commissioner Chinmay Gopal, Marketing Director Rajesh Chauhan and Horticulture Director Dr. Rajendra Singh Khichad also participated in this tour. Farmer groups in Denmark studied advanced dairy farms, greenhouse farming, Jersey cow farming, and modern flower farming systems.
Lunu told that he is fully involved in scientific and technical cooperation to develop agriculture and animal husbandry towards higher production at lower cost. We will implement the experiences there in our villages so that the income of farmers can increase. Lunu believes that if modern equipment and technologies are adopted at the village level, farming can be made a profitable and respectable business. Farmers of Bikaner are feeling proud of this achievement. Coming from a sheep and goat rearing family and reaching abroad is the result of Lunu’s hard work and dedication. He not only brought glory to his village but also made the entire Bikaner district proud. On this occasion, officers of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and other related departments have also congratulated Virendra Lunu with hearty congratulations.
