Udaipur, April 5: In a significant move, Bhajanlal Sharma has announced that Farmers in the Dausa and Karauli districts will now receive electricity during the day. This decision benefits a total of 87,801 agricultural consumers, including 52,460 from Dausa and 35,341 from Karauli. Farmers will be relieved from the challenges of irrigating their fields at night amidst cold weather, rain, and the threat of wild animals.
The Chief Minister described this initiative as a “protective shield” for farmers, emphasizing the state government’s goal to ensure daytime electricity supply across rajasthan by 2027. The plan includes a phased approach to eliminate nighttime electricity usage in all districts.
Currently, farmers in 24 districts, including Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur, are receiving electricity in two blocks during the day. This includes nine districts under Jaipur Discom, twelve under Ajmer, and three under Jodhpur Discom. Efforts are underway to strengthen the state’s electricity infrastructure, with 48 grid sub-stations already established, including two at 400 kV, five at 220 kV, and 41 at 132 kV. Additionally, over ₹28,400 crore is being invested under the RDSS scheme, with segregation work approved for 7,016 out of 7,522 feeders in the state.
