Government Ensures LPG Supply Amid Global Tensions

Patna, March 14: In a significant development for India amidst the ongoing conflict between the United States-Israel and Iran, the LPG carrier ship Shivalik successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz on Friday night. Bihar Minister Ramkripal Yadav expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister for their meaningful role in alleviating the shortage of oil and gas. He noted that their policies have helped the country overcome a major challenge.

Regarding the appointment of the new Governor of Bihar, Syed Ata Hasnain, Yadav stated that the Governor has commenced his duties, and under his leadership, Bihar is expected to progress and establish itself as a developed state.

On the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, Yadav mentioned that favorable conditions have emerged after 12 years, with five NDA candidates expected to win. He described the meeting at Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s residence as a normal procedure that facilitates interaction with the public.

It is noteworthy that the safe passage of the Shivalik, which has a capacity to carry over 50,000 tons of LPG, is considered crucial for India. Currently, there is no LPG shortage in the country; however, due to global circumstances, there has been a surge in bookings as people express concern.

On Friday, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, addressed the issue, stating that misinformation has led to panic booking and hoarding. She assured that the average delivery cycle for domestic LPG is approximately two and a half days and that a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system has been implemented to prevent diversion.
