iPhone 16 Tops Global Smartphone Sales for Second Straight Quarter

New Delhi, September 16 (Patrika English News): Apple’s iPhone 16 has once again emerged as the world’s best-selling smartphone in the second quarter of this year, maintaining its top spot from the previous quarter. Following closely are the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro.

According to Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartphone Model Sales Tracker, Samsung secured four spots in the top 10 list. The Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A06 4G ranked fourth and fifth, while the Galaxy A16 4G and Galaxy S25 Ultra took seventh and eighth place respectively.

Apple’s newly launched iPhone 16e also entered the global top 10 for the first time, driven by strong sales in the US and Japan.

Premium smartphone sales worldwide grew 8% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, setting a new record. Apple dominated this segment with a commanding 62% market share. Its shipments rose 3% year-on-year, further solidifying its lead.

In India, Apple reported record sales of nearly USD 9 billion last fiscal year, reflecting rising demand for flagship devices such as iPhones and iPads. The company has also expanded its retail footprint in the country with new Apple Stores.

Recently, Apple launched the iPhone 17 series along with new versions of the Apple Watch and other products, expected to further boost sales momentum in coming quarters.
