New Delhi, April 3: Congress MP Tariq Anwar has criticized senior party leader Kamal Nath’s remarks regarding the LPG cylinder crisis, calling them absurd. Anwar suggested that Nath should visit gas agencies to understand the reality of the situation.
Kamal Nath had previously supported the Indian government’s stance on the LPG issue, claiming there is no shortage of cylinders and that only baseless rumors are being spread.
In an interview, Anwar expressed disbelief at Nath’s comments, stating, “It is ridiculous to make such claims. This is something that needs to be seen and felt. Just stand outside any gas agency, and you will understand whether there is a gas crisis or not.”
He highlighted the distress faced by women unable to provide timely meals for their children, forcing kids to go to school without food. Anwar noted that laborers are returning to their villages, fearing they can no longer sustain themselves in the city.
Anwar further expressed surprise at Nath’s statements amidst such widespread hardship, labeling them as incorrect.
Commenting on Congress leader Anand Sharma’s praise for India’s diplomatic handling of the West Asia crisis, Anwar questioned the basis of Sharma’s claims, stating, “Generally, the view is that India has no role or intervention in global events. If someone claims India’s foreign policy is excellent, that may be their personal opinion.”
He also took a jab at AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, stating that Owaisi’s language benefits the BJP and sends a clear message to strengthen the party.
