Investigation revealed that the body of the bus which caught fire was prepared at Jainam Coach Crafts Workshop located in Mogra near Jodhpur. At Jainam Coach Crafts, manufacturing of buses starts from the chassis. First the iron frame is prepared. Then seats, cabin and other structures are made on it. The entire work from electric wiring to cabin fitting is done in the workshop. After the accident, the transport department has also seized 66 buses present in the workshop. All these buses will remain there till the investigation is completed.
The bus was registered as a non-AC vehicle. But later AC was installed after modification. Experts have also raised questions on the load and wiring of the AC. The electrical load had increased due to AC, due to which the accident occurred. However, its investigation is currently underway. The size of the emergency gate is also not as per the standards. Two seats were also made in front of the emergency gate in the bus. Due to this the emergency route was closed. Besides, to increase the seats and sleepers, the size of the bus was increased in violation of the prescribed standards.
