Nitish Kumar Launches 188 Development Projects in Samastipur

Patna, 29 January: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday inaugurated 188 development projects worth Rs 827 crore in Samastipur district as part of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra.

Out of these projects, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for 71, inaugurated 74 completed projects, and commenced work on 43 new initiatives, significantly boosting infrastructure and welfare schemes in the district.

During his visit, Nitish Kumar inspected the Government Engineering College in the district and inaugurated a newly constructed amenity hall building, where he interacted with students.

He also toured departmental stalls set up within the college campus, reviewed development plans, and distributed cheques to beneficiaries under various government schemes.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of development and welfare programmes implemented in Samastipur and assessed projects initiated during the previous Samriddhi Yatra.

Additionally, he inspected the under-construction RCC bridge and bypass road at Hakimabad.

Addressing a large public gathering at the Housing Board Ground, Nitish Kumar highlighted his government’s developmental work and policies, reiterating the state’s commitment to inclusive growth and infrastructure development.

The Chief Minister’s office stated that during a review meeting on the progress of development schemes in the district, Nitish Kumar directed officials to ensure the timely, quality, and transparent implementation of all plans so that their benefits reach the last person in society.

Thursday marked the third day of the second phase of the Samriddhi Yatra.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar visited Madhubani on 27 January and Darbhanga on 28 January, where he inaugurated and launched several development projects.

The first phase of the Samriddhi Yatra began on 16 January in West Champaran, during which projects worth thousands of crores were inaugurated across multiple districts.
