Jaipur, October 20 (Patrika English News ). Like every year, Police Martyrs’ Day is being organized on 21st October this year too in honor of the martyred police personnel. In this event, tribute will be paid to the policemen martyred during September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. The main function will be held at the Martyr’s Place located at Rajasthan Police Academy, after which tribute will be paid to the martyrs by offering flower circles at the Police Memorial located at Trimurti Circle.
Indian police personnel were martyred in Ladakh 66 years ago
Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma said that October 21 is a symbol of the supreme sacrifice in the history of Indian police. Exactly 66 years ago, on 21 October 1959, brave soldiers of the Indian Police sacrificed their lives while protecting their motherland in the extremely inaccessible area of Ladakh. Police Martyrs’ Day is celebrated every year on 21st October across the country to remember the martyrdom of these immortal soldiers and draw inspiration from their sacrifice. On this day, every police organization and institution of the country pays tribute to those martyrs who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Arrangements for the main function in Jaipur
The main Police Martyr’s Day ceremony in Jaipur will be held at the Martyr Memorial located at Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) at 8 am. Guard of honor and tribute will be given to the martyred policemen by Director General of Police Rajiv Sharma.
ADG Law and Order Vishal Bansal said that one platoon each from Commissionerate Jaipur, Fourth Battalion and Fifth Battalion RAC will be included for the guard of honor and parade. A retired police officer from the rank of Director General of Police and a retired non-gazetted police officer based in Jaipur have been invited to the ceremony. All the officers of Indian Police Service and Rajasthan Police Service of Jaipur Police Department participated in this program.

Many social and awareness programs will be organized after the ceremony. Voluntary blood donation camps will be organized in RPA and district police lines and all police offices will be cleaned. In memory of the martyred policemen, a tree plantation program will be organized in RPA and all the police lines located in Jaipur. If any policeman of Jaipur district has been martyred, then a sapling will be planted by the near family members of that martyred policeman and a plaque with the name of the immortal martyr will be placed on the plant.
