Ramgopal Yadav Advocates for Modis Mediation in Middle East Conflict

New Delhi, March 25: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have taken the initiative to mediate during the ongoing conflicts in Western Asia. He emphasized that India, being the world’s largest democracy, has a significant role to play, and Modi is well-acquainted with global leaders.

In response to questions regarding mediation in the Iran-Israel conflict, Yadav remarked, “Countries like Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey are currently mediating. This mediation should have been led by Prime Minister Modi and India. As the largest democratic nation, Modi’s involvement is crucial.”

He further noted, “Many countries have awarded Prime Minister Modi their highest national honors. Therefore, his voice carries weight, but we need to understand what discussions he had with Donald Trump. Parliament and the nation should be informed about this.”

Addressing questions raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding India’s foreign policy, Yadav stated, “The foreign policy is primarily shaped under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who decides our relations with other countries. This has been the case since Jawaharlal Nehru’s time. Our non-aligned policy was crafted by Nehru, and now Modi seems to be deviating from it.”

On the central government’s call for an all-party meeting, Yadav mentioned that the meeting is scheduled for 5 PM, with information received on Tuesday. Representatives Javed Ali Khan and Dharmendra Yadav will attend from the Samajwadi Party, with two leaders from each party participating.

During this time, Yadav also expressed his opposition to the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill being presented in Parliament. He stated, “This bill is fraught with objections. Who can stand against the government? It does not respect the Supreme Court’s decisions. An Assistant Commandant may take 30 years to become a Deputy Commandant, while those who pass the same exam become IPS DGs. Many have taken DRS out of despair.”

He added that he raised his voice against this during Zero Hour, emphasizing that it is these soldiers who protect politicians. They are the ones who sacrifice their lives both at the borders and within the country.
