Barmer, 5 October (Udaipur Kiran News). The two -day Thar Festival 2025 will be organized on 8 and 9 October under the joint aegis of Tourism Department and Barmer District Administration. District Collector Tina Dabi, while reviewing the preparations, entrusted responsibilities to the officers and said that this time the theme of the festival will be “Rang Desert”.
The festival will begin on October 8 at 8 am with a procession from Gandhi Chowk to Adarsh Stadium. After this, non -dance will be performed at the opening ceremony. Various competitions will be held from 10 am to 1 pm, including Miss Thar, Mr. Thar Sri, Sundar Mustache, Camel Shringar, Russia, Tug of Russia, Russian, Panihari Matka Race, Dhol Victation and Basketball matches. Folk artists will give cultural performances in the stadium from 8 to 10 pm.
On the second day on 9 October, the programs will be held at the Panch Gaurav site of Kiradu. After cultural performances from 9 am to 9:30 am, rural sports competitions will be held kabaddi, Satolia, couple race, grandfather-thread races, handkerchiefs, mehndi and rangoli competitions.
There will be great performances of folk artists from 7 to 10 pm on Mahabar’s Dhore at night. Assistant Tourism Director Kamleshwar Singh said that the famous folk artists of Rajasthan will be given a platform in the festival so that local talents can be encouraged.
The attractions of the Thar Festival will include Kalbeliya, Ghoomar, Kachchi Ghodi, Agni Dance, Terhatali, Bhawai Dance, Desert Symphony, Rajasthani Bhajan and folk singing. Along with this, the rich folk culture of Rajasthan will be presented through the Shop playing, dhol playing and puppet shows.
