Washington, March 7: U.S. President Donald Trump has labeled Iranian President Masoud Pagezhekiyan’s recent apology to neighboring countries as a move made under “pressure.” In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump took a jab at Pagezhekiyan, stating that Iran has bowed down to its neighbors.
According to Trump, Iran has apologized to its neighbors and promised not to attack them again, a concession he attributes to the ongoing pressure from U.S. and Israeli attacks. He remarked, “Iran has been badly beaten in this conflict. They have apologized and surrendered to their Middle Eastern neighbors, promising not to fire upon them anymore.”
Trump further asserted that this promise was made solely due to the relentless assaults from the U.S. and Israel. “Iran wanted to dominate the Middle East, and for the first time in thousands of years, it has been defeated by neighboring Middle Eastern countries,” he added.
The U.S. President claimed that Gulf nations expressed their gratitude to him following Iran’s apology. Trump wrote that they said, “Thank you, President Trump,” to which he responded, “You’re welcome!”
He emphasized that Iran will no longer threaten the Middle East, labeling them as “losers” who will remain so for decades unless they surrender or are completely eradicated.
Additionally, Trump hinted at a potential major attack on Iran, stating that the country would face severe consequences due to its behavior. He mentioned that serious considerations are being made regarding complete destruction of Iran.
Earlier, President Pagezhekiyan had stated on state television that while Iran could halt attacks on neighboring countries, it would respond if attacked. Following his comments, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) affirmed its respect for the sovereignty of neighboring nations and denied any attacks against them.
Local media reported that the IRGC also warned that if U.S. and Israeli attacks continue, all military bases of these nations in the region would be targeted by Iran.
