
Jaipur, October 15 (Udaipur Kiran News). The Department of Telecommunications blacklisted 769 SIM vendors who provided mobile sims to cyber criminals. More than 1.28 lakh mobile handsets were blocked in the state, while more than 21 lakh mobile SIMs were blocked.
Additional Director General of the Department of Telecommunications Mukesh Kumar Chauhan informed that 39.48 lakh mobile handsets were blocked across the country to prevent misuse of telecommunication resources. While 5.21 crore mobile SIMs were blocked and more than 74,977 SIM vendors were blacklisted. Continuous efforts are also being made to trace lost and stolen mobile phones. More than 24.42 lakh lost and stolen mobile handsets were traced across the country. 6.36 mobile handsets have also been recovered, whose value is more than Rs 900 crore. 87,575 stolen or lost mobile handsets were traced in Rajasthan.
Of these, 37,549 mobile handsets worth Rs 57 crore have been recovered and handed over to their owners. He says that the mobile recovery rate in Rajasthan is 42.88 percent. Whereas the mobile recovery rate in the country is 26 percent. He clarified that preventing telecom misuse and ensuring safe use of mobile networks is the priority of the Department of Telecommunications.
