
New Delhi, April 2: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjirapu expressed his delight on the 31st anniversary of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). He praised AAI’s achievements and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘UDAN’ vision as the foundation for air connectivity in the country’s remote areas.
In a post on the social media platform X, Naidu stated, “I am very happy to be part of the 31st annual celebration of the Airports Authority of India. AAI is functioning as the backbone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘UDAN’ vision, making air travel accessible to the common people in the vast and diverse regions of the country.”
The minister noted that Indian airports have now become symbols of world-class Infrastructure and innovation, while also reflecting India’s rich heritage and culture. He described this as a powerful example of the mantra ‘Development and Heritage’.
Naidu commended AAI’s passenger-centric initiatives, including ‘UDAN Passenger Cafes’, ‘Flybrary’, free Wi-Fi, and special zones for children. These initiatives have significantly enhanced and modernized the air travel experience across the nation.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to all AAI employees and their families, stating, “The employees of AAI have realized the vision of becoming a world-class airport developer and operator.”
It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, the Airports Authority of India is celebrating its 31st anniversary. AAI operates over 100 airports across the country and plays a crucial role in connecting small towns and remote areas to the air network under the ‘UDAN’ scheme.
The Union Minister wished AAI well as it moves towards its ‘Golden Jubilee’, emphasizing that the organization is continuously focusing on innovation and passenger facilities to contribute to making India a leading aviation hub in the world.
