Jaipur, Sept 10 (Patrika English News): The biannual Airfield Environmental Management Committee (AEMC) meeting was held at Air Force Station Jodhpur on September 9, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Dr. (Mrs.) Pratibha Singh, Divisional Commissioner Jodhpur, with Air Commodore J. Sreeram, VM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jodhpur, also in attendance.

Senior officials, including the Collector and District Magistrate Jodhpur, representatives of the Police Commissionerate, JDA Commissioner, CEO of Jodhpur Nagar Nigam, DFO, Airport Manager, and other representatives of the city administration, participated in the discussions.
Focus on Bird Hazard Mitigation
The meeting began by appreciating the efforts of the State Administration, CCF officials, and Air Force personnel for their successful relocation of blue bulls, which has significantly reduced aviation hazards.
The committee reviewed environmental challenges around the Jodhpur airfield, including open drainages, unauthorized dwellings, and bird infestation zones, which are among the primary causes of bird strikes on military and civilian aircraft operating from the station.
Call for Continuous Monitoring and Awareness
Participants emphasized the urgent need for continuous monitoring and evaluation of environmental conditions to curb bird hazards. They also highlighted the importance of raising awareness among local communities about preventive measures.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to create a safer and more sustainable environment for aviation and nearby residents through a coordinated approach between the Air Force and civil administration.
