Jaisalmer, 24 October (Udaipur Kiran News). A poignant example has come to light from Jaisalmer, where a disabled husband has set out to travel 735 kilometers on a scooter to demand the transfer of his disabled wife. This young man named Anu Ranga is going to meet Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in Jaipur regarding the transfer of his wife Beena Ranga.
Anu Ranga started the Scooty Yatra from Geeta Ashram in Jaisalmer on the afternoon of Friday 24th October. He is also accompanied by his friend Kamal, who is supporting him during the journey. Anu Ranga will reach Jaipur on 26th October via Pokaran, Ramdevra, Phalodi and Nagaur and will try to meet the Chief Minister on 27th October.
Anu Ranga and his wife Bina Ranga are disabled in both legs. Bina Ranga was appointed as Grade Third Teacher in the year 2019 and is posted in Semalia Upper Primary School in Banswara district. This distance from Jaisalmer is about 735 kilometers.
The couple has a 13-month-old daughter, who currently lives with her mother in Banswara. Anu Ranga told that he runs a small RO business in Jaisalmer, but it has become very difficult for him to stay so far away from his wife and daughter.
He said that we have been in different districts for four years. This is very difficult not only for us but also for our little girl. I requested the education department and the government several times, but there was no hearing. Now I want to meet the Chief Minister and present my views for the last time.
Expressing determination, Anu Ranga said that if his wife was not transferred, he would not return from Jaipur.
He told that I will meet the Chief Minister and present my views with sensitivity. If the transfer is not done, I will remain on the footpath outside the CM House. Along with Anu Ranga, her neighbor and friend Kamal has also set out on the journey. He says that the struggle of Anu Ranga and his wife is not just their personal matter, but is the voice of hundreds of teachers who are waiting for transfer in their home districts.
Anu Ranga said that the government has banned the transfers of grade three teachers, due to which many families are divided in different districts. He said that this yatra is an appeal to both the government and the society to adopt a sensitive approach.
We want to prove our demands not just on paper but through our struggle. It is hoped that the Chief Minister will listen to us and find a humane solution to this problem of teachers. This journey of Ranga has now become a topic of discussion among the local people and social media. Many teachers’ organizations have also raised their voice in their support and have requested the government to transfer Beena Ranga to Jaisalmer, so that the family can live together.
